先日の日曜日は黒船主催の２マンライブ、『和魂洋祭〜第八幕〜』をお馴染みの渋谷 gee-ge. にて行ってきました。今回の対バン相手は、尺八とピアノのユニット AJIGUL。２人組の編成ですが、今回は和太鼓の方を加えて３人編成での出演となっており、このイベントでは久し振りに和楽器が中心となった時間が展開されていきました。また、当日の夕方には台風が上陸するかもという予報になっていましたが、偶然にも今回はお昼のライブにしていて、悪天候のピーク時は避ける事が出来たのではないかと思います。…とは言え、実際は既に足元の悪い中でのライブになってはしまいましたが、多くのお客さんにお越し頂けたのは良かったです。
先攻は AJIGUL から始まりました。一見すれば、尺八がメロディをとって、ピアノが伴奏を担当するように思えますが、特にお互い固定というわけでもなく、幅広い演奏をとっていきます。そこに加わる和太鼓はまた迫力満点で、繊細な部分とパワフルな部分とがバランス良く交ざった心地良い音楽が提供されていきました。
また、AJIGUL のステージにはゲストとしてベースの関谷君も加わって演奏する場面もありました。抽象的なものとリズミックなものを１曲ずつ行い、それぞれベースで表現出来る事を駆使して、その場を盛り上げていっていました。和魂洋祭らしさに溢れた時間だったと思います。
そして黒船の出番になりました。今回のステージはお昼の時間帯という事もあって、いつもより少し短めになっており、セットリストの流れも、通常より少しギュッと凝縮されるような感じで進められていったように思います。
その中でも、今回は新曲をお送りする事が出来ました。黒船のレパートリーの特徴に、民謡のアレンジ曲や、自分達のオリジナルを積極的に取り上げるというものがありますが、もう１つ、ジャズ系のカバー曲を取り上げるという側面も持ち合わせています。今回はそちらに力を注ぎ、ウェザー・リポートの楽曲“Birdland”を黒船アレンジを施して演奏してみました。このアレンジにはだいぶ時間が掛かり、完成までは本当に時間を要したのですが、多くのお客さんの前で披露する事によって、苦労が報われた瞬間でもありました。手応えはあったので、更に演奏を熟させていきたいところですね。
和魂洋祭恒例のコラボタイムでは、お馴染みのレパートリーである“La Fiesta”に、尺八の辻本好美さんと和太鼓の大多和正樹さんに参加して頂き、大団円のような雰囲気で曲を盛り上げていきます。ドラムもいて和太鼓もいると、同時に色々なグルーブが進行しているような雰囲気にもなり、混沌としてくる反面、何だか心が沸き立つものがありました。その中で、ベース、津軽三味線、尺八のソロ回し等も展開され、とても面白い時間だったように思います。何度も演奏している“La Fiesta”ですが、毎回異なる印象になるところが楽しいですよね。和魂洋祭の奥深さを体感しつつ、良い締めの１曲となりました。どうもありがとうございました！
さて、黒船の次回のライブは恐らく年内最後となる１２月１０日（日）、渋谷 Last Walts にて行います。この日はワンマンライブとなります。時期ＣＤアルバムへの構想も徐々に出てきた黒船…。ライブも然り、今後とも是非楽しみにして頂ければと思います。どうぞよろしくお願いします！
