先日の月曜日は、ボーカル・ギターの丸本達也さんと、又吉康人君の２マンライブに参加をしてきました。毎年、１２月に行ってきた恒例の２マンライブで、前回は昨年の１２月にやったばかりでしたが〔丸本達也 × 又吉康人、３年目の２マンライブは特殊形態参照〕、前回のものが特に好評で、あれから３ヶ月という短いスパンで、今回のライブが決定したのでした。
前回の２マンライブでは大きな試みがありました。それは、自分も入れた出演者３人が、常にステージ上に出ずっぱりだという事です。…とは言え、常に３人で演奏しているわけではなく、ステージ上にも出演者待機席があり、曲毎にメンバーが入れ替わり、待機席では個々でドリンク等を飲んでて自由に過ごしてオーケーというものでした。…なので、２マンライブと提示しているものの、３人で提供しているワンマンライブみたいな印象があり、それが好評でもあったのだと思います。
今回はその好評だった部分を生かし、そして更に一歩前進させた取り組みを行いました。それは客席上にステージを設けてしまおうというものです。前回のような試みで、何が一番主立った印象だったかというと、ステージ上と客席の空間の差が曖昧になるというものでした。お客さん達は、いつの間にかステージ上に参加しているような気分にもなり、より一体感が図られたのだと思います。…だとしたら、客席上にステージを設けたらどうだろう…という、発想としては単純なものですが、これにはお店の多大なる協力がないと、到底実現はしなかったと思います。
まず、お店に入って驚かれたと思うのは、いつもはステージ上にあるグランドピアノが、今回は客席の真ん中に鎮座しているという事でしょう。いつもよりグッと近くに見えるそのピアノの姿は、一瞬アンバランスにも見えますが、とても身近な存在に思えてくる印象も芽生えて来たと思います。そして、そのピアノと向かいあうようにボーカルマイクが設置され、出演者３人で向かい合うようにステージはセッティングされているのだと気付きます。そして客席は、更にそのステージを囲むかの用に配置されており、座席は従来のステージ上にまで及んでいました。
ここ Manda-la 2 では今まで、それこそ何年もライブをやらせて頂きましたが、こんな光景は勿論初めてでした。ピアノの椅子に座ってみると、とても新鮮な光景であると共に、これは客席から見た光景としても同じである事に気付きました。特に、ステージ上の客席から、客席上にあるステージを見た時の光景は、ある意味滑稽でもありました（笑）。これらは、楽器上の配置は勿論の事ですが、音響配置から照明配置まで配慮されての事でもあります。いつもとは違う配線のセッティングに、お店の方も戸惑う事が多かったと思いますが、皆で協力しながら楽しく準備を進められたという感じでしょうか。本当に有り難かったです。
そしてライブです。３人での演奏から初めていきましたが、前回のように、ソロとしての演奏もあれば、２人での演奏もあり、ステージが進むに連れて、メンバーも入れ替えも頻繁に行われました。待機席から見る今回のステージもまた、とても新鮮な光景だったのでした。勿論、今回もステージ前に皆で乾杯を行ったものです（笑）。
いつもとは音の出所が違うので、お客さんにも出来れば色々な場所からステージを見てほしいとの提案もさせて頂きました。ピアノをこんなに近くで見れるのも確かに貴重ではありますが、本来のステージとされる場所から、今回のステージを見る（笑）というは、もっと貴重な体験かもしれません。勿論、１ヶ所でじっと見て、敢えて俯瞰するように聴くのも良いでしょう。このように、お客さんそれぞれに楽しみ方が出来るというのも、今回の良いポイントだったのではないかと思います。
前回の反省点も踏まえ、曲の進行具合は勿論、曲間（ＭＣやそれぞれの立ち位置等）の進行具合もある程度は事前に打ち合わせをしておいたので、スムーズに進められた部分が多かったのは良かったです。何より、この日１日をとても楽しく過ごせたのが有り難かったです。ライブ前からでもありましたが、ライブ後のビールもまた最高でした。丸本さん、又吉君、大変お疲れ様でした。また更にブラッシュアップさせたライブをしていきましょう。どうもありがとうございました！…そして、次回の丸本さんとの通常ライブは４月２４日（月）になります。引き続きよろしくお願いします！
